Jack asked me if I wanted to go to the discotheque with his friends. I was enjoying myself at the restaurant and didn’t want to leave just yet. I said to him then,
"I would prefer us to stay here"
This means that I wanted to stay where we were at the restaurant. That is what I wanted to do.
